Interactive Theatre Days

Your pupils performing a show in a day!


Our Interactive Theatre Days have been designed to build teamwork, self-confidence and communication skills. By using well know Bible stories, these workshops encourage pupils to develop their own ideas, share their opinions and make group decisions. At the end of the day they will have their own performance suitable for parents and the whole school to see!

A jam-packed day full of drama games,
       discussions and moral learning!                    

Exploring themes within the Citizenship, PSHE and RE Curricula for Key Stage 1 & 2 are:

Choices! A Workshop about Choices explored through the story of
                 the Wise and Foolish Builders.

  • Looking at how our decisions affect us and those around us.
  • How different sources affecting our decisions.
  • How we have to make important decisions on a daily basis.
  • Distinguishing between fact and opinion.
  • Strategies for making informed decisions.

New Starts! A Workshop about New Starts explored through the
                       story of Moses.

  • Facing new challenges positively by collecting information, looking for help, making responsible choices and taking action.
  • Helping others to feel valued and welcome.
  • Strategies to cope with uncomfortable feeling.
  • Dealing with our feelings towards ourselves and others.
  • Being aware of common responses to difficult changes.

Friendship! A Workshop about Friendship explored through the
                      story of Zacchaeus.

  • Looking at what a friend is.
  • What sort of qualities make a good friend.
  • The variety of people that can be our friends.
  • What sorts of behaviour can make us popular or unpopular.
  • How we can make a difference to people by being their friend.

Also for Key Stage 2 are:

Perserverance! A Workshop about Perserverance explored through the
                              story of Noah's Ark.

  • Recognising when we find things difficult and how to perservere.
  • Taking responsibility for our behaviour.
  • Asking for help when it is needed.
  • Bouncing back and maintaining effort through a difficult experience or after, a mistake or failure.
  • Setting and achieving goals.

Self-Esteem! A Workshop about Self-Esteem explored through the
                         story of the David and Goliath.

  • Looking at themes of identity.
  • Valuing ourselves and others.
  • recognising our achievements and our strengths.
  • Overcoming 'Giants' in our lives.
  • Discovering that everyone is special and has potential.

Respect!  A Workshop about Community explored through the
                   story of the The Good Samaritan.

  • Looking at the way we treat other people and how we like people to treat us.
  • Respecting other people's opinions.
  • Valuing other people, their property and possessions.
  • Valuing our neighbourhood.
  • What makes us treat people in certain ways.

 

Performance Details

Who for? Groups of 30 Pupils in Key Stage 1 or 2.

Where? A large open space such as a school hall.

How long? One full school day.
